Foundations Classes

The Bible describes the Church as being founded on the apostles and held together by Jesus, himself being the Chief Cornerstone (Eph. 2:20). Jude 1:3 describes the faith of the Church as being “once for all handed down to the saints”. Being a part of Christ’s one, holy, global Church, at Christ Church East the faith we cling to and are called to teach is the same one faith that the Church has clung to through the ages.

As an expression of our calling to teach and train and make disciples in this faith, we are launching two new initiatives within the Foundations effort. During the week there will be Men’s and Women’s studies facilitated by Elders and trained teachers working through the book of Romans. This study will engage men and women in discipleship through Bible study and application, while establishing them in fundamental doctrines of the faith.

On Sunday morning’s, twenty four weeks out of the year, there will be classes for adults, youth, and children, working through the New City Catechism also led by Elders and trained teachers. These classes will move through a systematic view of the faith laid out in fifty two question and answer summaries anchored to Scripture memory. Both of these initiatives are intended to be an investment in centering our community on the Gospel of Christ and making generations of disciples established in the faith which was once for all handed down through the apostles.
