Adopt-a-Student/Adopt-a-Family Program

For Families
The Christ Church East Adopt-a-Student program is an opportunity for you and your entire family to serve Christ by offering local college students a home away from home. While commitments can be short term or long term, the goal of this ministry is for families of Christ Church East to show the love of Christ to our college students by making them a part of your family.

Some examples of what this ministry may look like are:

  • Inviting a college student to a weekly lunch or dinner with your entire family
  • Providing a place for your students to do laundry, use a computer, study, or take a nap
  • Providing transportation to and from church or work for students without cars
  • Helping a college student get engaged in church by suggesting classes, introducing them to other families and members, and involving them in ministry opportunities
  • Taking a student on a family vacation or to a local neighborhood event
  • Providing prayer and financial support for a student interested in a mission trip

While there are many other ways to serve these students throughout a college school year, the vision for Christ Church East adoptive families is to be an interactive ministry, designed to help build long lasting relationships within the community and within the family of Christ.

If you are interested in adopting a student, please contact Katie Pogachnik or talk with someone at the Connect Table on Sunday mornings.
